The ECED returns to Budapest, and we offer you the warmest of Hungarian welcomes. Since 1989 we have met every two years in a different European city, and I’m delighted that the meeting has now returned to this beautiful city.
From its foundation, the ECED was seen as a clinical debating forum and our programme will keep very much to this tradition. This includes encouraging and welcoming young and new researchers to present their work in a supportive atmosphere. We love to hear their opinion during a debate, especially if their first language isn’t English. The total aim is an interactive meeting where you can discuss and present clinical topics in a semi-formal setting.
The ECED’s secondary aim is to bring colleagues throughout Europe together in a collegiate atmosphere. There is an appreciation in Europe that our problems – clinical and financial - are common and by discussing them together we can take new ideas back to our homelands. And to assist, there will be opportunities to meet and socialise with good food and wine!
Come and join us in Budapest, between the 11th and 13th of September, for an exciting and stimulating time with new and old friends!

More than two decades ago, Budapest had the honor of hosting the ECED General Meeting, an event we all fondly remember. We are thrilled and eagerly looking forward to this new gathering. It is truly beneficial that the ECED General Meeting periodically moves to Eastern Europe, stimulating the region’s clinical and research activities in the field of eating disorders. These civilization-related disorders pose a significant challenge to healthcare systems in Eastern Europe as well.
We warmly welcome participants from Western Europe to the East, and even from countries beyond Europe. We trust that the traditionally high-quality scientific program and Hungary’s renowned warm hospitality will leave us all with wonderful memories!
